Non-Runner Kit Car Collected in Salisbury, Delivered to Tewkesbury
By Ian

A bit of a different one on the truck today — a really characterful green kit car collected from Salisbury and delivered to Stuart up in Tewkesbury.
This one was a non-runner, so the winch came out at both ends — slowly and carefully onto the bed in Salisbury, and just as carefully back off again on Stuart's drive in Tewkesbury. With kit cars especially, you have to take your time: lightweight bodywork, exposed mechanicals and bespoke fittings mean there's no margin for rushed loading.
It's around a 110-mile run from Salisbury up through Wiltshire and Gloucestershire to Tewkesbury — a straightforward drive, but the right kit makes all the difference when the car can't move under its own power.
Kit cars and bespoke builds — why specialist transport matters
Kit cars, replicas and one-off builds need a different approach to a standard saloon:
- Often non-runners, mid-build, or only road-legal at certain points
- Lightweight bodywork and exposed mechanicals — easy to damage with chains or hard straps
- Bespoke ride heights and wheelbases that don't suit every transporter
- Irreplaceable if damaged — many are unique builds
A flat-bed transporter with a proper winch, soft wheel straps and patient handling is exactly what these cars need. We move kit cars, replicas, project builds and non-runners across the UK — collection and delivery, fully insured throughout.
