Pilgrim Bulldog Collected in Cinderford, Delivered to Tewkesbury

    By Ian

Red Pilgrim Bulldog kit car winched onto Ian's transporter in Cinderford, ready for delivery to Tewkesbury

A genuinely interesting one on the truck today — a Pilgrim Bulldog collected from Cinderford in the Forest of Dean and delivered across to Tewkesbury for its new owner.

If you've not come across one before, the Bulldog is a 1930s-style roadster kit car built on a Morris Marina chassis, this one running the 1.8 TC B-series engine. Traditional British sports car looks, proper wire wheels, and running gear that's simple and well understood — a lovely combination for anyone who likes to work on their own car.

It's in good shape overall. It just needs a battery and fresh fuel and she'll be a runner again — but as it stood it wasn't going to start or move under its own power, so it was winched carefully onto the flat bed, strapped down with soft wheel straps and brought over to Gloucestershire without a mark on it.

    Winch-loading kit cars and non-runners

Kit cars need a bit more thought than a standard saloon:

    • Low ground clearance — loaded on a low-angle flat bed to avoid grounding
    • Glassfibre bodywork — no chains or hard straps anywhere near the panels
    • Non-runnerswinched on slowly and under control, no pushing or towing
    • Bespoke builds — every car assessed on the day, no assumptions

Whether it's a Pilgrim, Marlin, Dax, Westfield or a one-off build, if it needs moving I'll treat it like my own. Give Ian a call on 07867 787629 for a friendly quote.
