Rover Metro GTa Collected near Manchester, Delivered to Hereford
By Ian

A really enjoyable collection today — a lovely Rover Metro GTa picked up from Leigh, near Manchester, and delivered safely down to Hereford.
These little Metros are becoming proper modern classics now, and this one was in superb original condition — clean white paintwork, those distinctive multi-spoke alloys looking sharp, and the kind of car you don't see on the road often any more. The owner had bought it at distance and wanted it brought home without putting unnecessary miles on it, which is exactly the right call with a car of this age and condition.

We loaded it carefully on the ramps, strapped it down with soft straps over the wheels (no chassis stress, no scratches), and set off on the 150-mile run south from Greater Manchester back to Herefordshire — a steady drive down the M6, across to the M5 and on into Hereford. The Metro arrived without a mark on it, ready to go straight into the new owner's garage.
Why classic cars need a proper transporter
Driving a 30+ year-old car the length of the country isn't ideal, even when it's in great nick:
- Motorway miles add wear to a car that's been carefully preserved
- Older cars can be temperamental on long unfamiliar journeys
- A breakdown 150 miles from home is a real headache
- Insurance and risk on a high-value classic on a long solo drive
A flat-bed transporter takes all that worry out of the equation. Fully insured, soft-strapped, door-to-door — your classic arrives in exactly the condition it left in.
